Lately, media around the world are reporting that on June 23, 2015, a group of scientists discovered the bodies of 337 dead cetaceans in the remote waters of Patagonia, Chile, between the Gulf of Penas and Puerto Natales.
The cause of the massive die-off is still being investigated. It is reported as the biggest single whale stranding event known to science. Scientists say they are most likely sei whales, which are endangered.
What may be the reasons of this mass death disaster of marine mammals? Pollution, a virus, contaminated waters, presence of a harmful algaea, toxic microorganisms…?
Anyhow, this is a new example which must attract again the attention of our leaders in Paris, France at the COP21, to Act and take strict measures to protect more Our Nature and Oceans, in fact Humankind!
