Mega huge Russian icebreaker under construction for Arctic control…
Several newspapers are indicating a new Russian mega icebreaker is under construction in St Petersburg Baltic Shipyard and should be ready for Arctic operations in 2017. This vessel at a price tag of 1.1 billion Euro will be powered by two nuclear reactors, and it will be 173 meters long and 34 meters wide, meaning 14 meters longer and 4 meters wider than the current largest icebreaker “50 let Pobedy” that you can see here in the below video.
This expected “huge beautiful sea monster” could probably be used to collect data, protect/control vital shipping routes in the Arctic and why not increase further Russia’s dominance around the North Pole area & be ready in case of war?
