The 18th Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals will take place October 12-16, 2009, in Québec City, QC, Canada.
“… Our conference organizing committee involves both government and private sector collaboration: Dr. Mike Hammill (Chair), a Society member since 1985, is a pinniped research scientist with Fisheries and Oceans, Canada (DFO), the lead governmental organization responsible for marine mammals in Canada. Dr. Véronique Lesage is a cetacean research scientist with DFO and has been a Society member since 1991. Jean-Francois Gosselin, a Society member since 1995, is a marine mammal biologist with DFO and Dr. Garry Stenson, a Society member since 1983, is a pinniped research scientist with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO-Newfoundland region). Robert Michaud, a Society member since 1993, is the President and founding member of GREMM, an NGO dedicated to research, education and conservation of marine mammals in the St Lawrence Estuary.
