The Green Ark of the Arctic…

Norway has inaugurated on this Tuesday the 26th of February 08 in the archipelago of Svalbard an “Arctic vault” to preserve world crop seeds in the event of global catastrophe.

The aim is to ensure the survival of crop diversity in case of plant epidemics, natural disasters, nuclear events, climate change… and to offer our world a chance to restart growth of food crops that may have been wiped out….
