Participe to a clean up action…

We often refer on Arctic05.org’s website to the beauty of polar regions, to its spectacular sceneries as if its nature wasn’t suffering by our garbage & various toxic products.

Besides, one should know that numerous beaches (we have experienced it) are littered with empty oil vats, fishnets, plastic & other polluted components transported by ocean currents.

Please inform yourself where you are staying (local authority – tourism office – locals…) if you couldn’t be able to take part in a clean up action.

For instance, the Sysselmannen (Svalbard’s governor) organize each summer (we were pleased to have participated during our 2005 Svalbard’s expedition) actions to clean up beaches under the naming “Clean up Svalbard” in order to maintain as much this place as “pure & untouched”.
