Long distance swim in the arctic ocean, well done Lewis Gordon Pugh

During our stay in Svalbard, who didn’t mention this challenge…congratulations.


Lewis Gordon Pugh swam on the 20/08/05 1.070 meters  in an icy water of 3 degrees C (37 Fahrenheit) at Verlegenhuken, the most northern point of the Island of Spitsbergen. It took him 20 minutes 32 seconds. Incredible as most humans would survive for minutes only…
