Rename the Arctic Northwest Passage?

Several Press articles have indicated this week (October 8, 2009) the famous Arctic Northwest Passage (see here below map & photos taken along the Northwest Passage => photo1 in Fort Ross – photos 2 & 3 with the Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaker Sir Wilfrid Laurier) should have a more Canadian name to assert Canada’s claim over the Arctic waterway & to rename the route the Canadian Northwest Passage or the Canadian Arctic Passage.
