“…Created 30 years ago by la Guilde Européenne du Raid (13 years at La Plagne, 17 years at Dijon), the Festival will celebrated its 17th anniversary of partnership with the city of Dijon. In the magnificent auditorium – 1.500 seats, large exhibition and meeting areas – the best films of the year will be rewarded. This International Festival of Adventure Film is an exceptional moment to watch the best national and international productions through documentaries and meet different personalities of adventure: professionals, travellers, explorers… the Festival welcomes the audience to participate to the projections, debates, exhibitions, meetings and share the best moments of the films with those who make us dream. Great names of adventure have contributed to the worldwide fame of Les Ecrans de l’Aventure, among them Gérard d’Aboville, Sir Peter Blake (NZ), James Lovell (USA), Kurt Diemberger (Autriche), Sir Edmund Hillary (NZ), Dmitry Shparo (Russie), Claudie Haigneré, Bertrand Piccard (Suisse), Catherine Maunoury, Alain Bombard, Yves Coppens, Pierre Schoendoerffer, Guillaume de Monfreid, Bernard Voyer (Canada), Yuichiro Miura (Japan).
Every year, 5 prizes are awarded to films:
* Toison d’Or – Grand Prize for Best Film
* Jury’s Special Prize
* Jean-Marc Boivin Prize (for the genuineness and ethical dimension of the adventure)
* Best Promising Director Prize
* Dijon’s Young Jury’s Prize


1 prize is awarded to a book:
* Toison d’Or – Grand Prize for Best Book.


3 prizes are awarded to a career:
* Toison d’Or – Grand Prize for Best Adventurer
* SPB/Peter Bird’s Trophy
