« … The Polar region is under immense pressure from climate change, oil companies, fishing fleets and sovereignty claims. Greenpeace is working to protect the Polar regions by ensuring that those forces responsible for the destruction are met with a wall of public protest. 

Over the next 3 years Greenpeace wants to mobilise millions of people across the world to stand with us in the fight to safeguard the Arctic. To reach these people, we will need to employ new types of communication tools, think differently and work more creatively than we have done before. 

To be successful we must effectively merge our online and offline campaign work in order to offer people many ways of engaging with the movement, including investors, politicians and businesses as well as the public at large. 

This is a crossover project, with goals relating to the oceans and climate campaigns as well as goals related to fundraising and mobilisation (on and off line). 

The success of the public mobilisation work will be essential for securing the success of the Polar campaign, as public pressure has been identified as key to bringing the scale of change we need to see. 

The position works with and coordinates a team of digital specialists, volunteer and offline activities, fundraisers and communication experts located across the world. This person will work to ensure that members of the public, our supporters and key audiences receive our campaign and fundraising messages in a coordinated way, and remain engaged in the campaign through our websites, offline events, online actions (petitions, letter writing etc) and other methods of online and offline mobilisation They will need to cooperate closely with the campaign, actions and volunteer units to synchronise online and offline mobilisation work. 

The mobilisation team leader is responsible for the continuation of one of most successful mobilisation project in Greenpeace history – the Polar campaign.
